Colt Petroleum is realiable supplier for both HFO CST 180 and CST 125. Heavy fuel oil is a residual fuel incurred during the distillation of crude oil. The quality of the residual fuel depends on the quality of the crude oil used in the refinery. To achieve various specifications and quality levels, these residual fuels are blended with lighter fuels such as marine gasoil or marine diesel oil.

The Kenyan HFO specifications are Kinematic viscosity @ 50 degrees centigrade of 180 cst maximum, pour point of 27 degrees centigrade maximum, sulphur content of 3.7% maximum and a net calorific value of 41MJ/kg minimum.
